FoodDrinkEurope joins Commissioner Hogan in China High-Level Mission

UTPs:new proposal step forward - promoting fairness still a challenge

(Brussels, 12th April 2018) Today, the European Commission has published a proposal for a Directive on unfair trading practices (UTPs) in the food supply chain and the members of the signatory organisations welcome this move. Such a proposal for a Directive has the potential to create a minimum harmonisation at EU level without endangering well-functioning existing systems already in place in some Member States.

Brexit: agri-food chain on future trade relationship

(Brussels, 21 March 2018) Ahead of the European Council discussion on the Brexit negotiations on 22-23 March, FoodDrinkEurope, Copa and Cogeca and CELCAA call on the EU Heads of State and governments to approve draft European Council guidelines on the future trade relationship. In particular, they welcome the stated objective of tariff-free trade in all goods sectors, and look forward to agreement on a status quo transition period, both of which are vital to operators in the food chain.
